Maple Leaves offers a chance to work with a variety of composite and specialty stitches. It focuses on the center and radiates out to include the square corner sections. The border helps the piece to flow softly around the design. This class also encompasses the teaching of painted sections within a geometric piece; optional painting of select areas is encouraged.
There will be many types of threads used in this piece in order facilitate the geometric leaf balance. DMC Perle Coton, Pepper Pot Silk, Kreinik Braid, Threadworx Merino Wool and Silk lame’ Braid will all be utilized in this design – plus more.
This is an advanced intermediate with a design area of 10 3/4″ x 10 3/4″.
