Dove In The Window offers a chance to work with new stitches and new variations of old and familiar stitches. This fabulous quilt design focuses on the center square and radiates out in all directions from the Large Eyelet variation stitch. The triangles and their background all point inward to the center focal point. The four corner cushions, suggesting windmills, create movement within the piece. A recently viewed quilt at an exhibit inspired this piece.
I have chosen to utilize new and old threads within this piece; all which create a subtle, yet balanced, design. ‘Dove In The Window’ is stitched on 18-count canvas measuring 12″ x 12″. The finished size of this piece is 7 1/4″ x 7 1/4″, including border. Advanced intermediate.
